Cave Creek Wild West DaysTM will take place Friday through Sunday, October 31, November 1 & 2. Coordinated by the non-profit Cave Creek Merchants Chamber of Commerce, the sixth annual event will once again transport the community back to the late 1800s and provide several dozen mini-events at various locations throughout the festive weekend.
The event kicks off on Thursday, October 30 with its “Cowboy, Spikes & Spurs” golf tournament at Rancho Manana Golf Resort with a Western buffet following the tournament.
The event continues Friday through Sunday with a number of mini-events and activities from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., including: a Poker Ride along the serene Cave Creek Trails; Mounted Shooters and Wild West Show at T.C. Thorstenson’s arena; Bull Riding Championship at The Buffalo Chip; an Arts and Crafts Show at Frontier Town; an Art Gallery Tour; a Classic Car Show at Big Earl’s Greasy Eats; a Sand Cart display at The Horny Toad; Hot Sauce Tasting; a Petting Zoo, special programs at Cave Creek Museum, live music and many other activities throughout town. Weekend nightlife entertainment also includes a “Wild West Days Kick-Off Party” on Friday, October 31 at Harold’s Cave Creek Corral.
| In addition, Cave Creek Wild West Days featured artist Lance Headlee will sign limited edition prints of his painting, “Lean on Me,” throughout the weekend at Harold’s Cave Creek Corral. An acclaimed painter from Anthem, Headlee’s bold, sophisticated and captivating contemporary paintings have attracted collectors worldwide. With shadowed eyes, weathered chaps, twisted ropes and flowing trench coats, Headlee creates a fresh dynamic look of the old west. Headlee’s original painting “Lean on Me” was inspired by Bill Withers’ 1972 hit song and depicts an evocative scene of a cowboy embracing a cowgirl. Unsigned prints cost $20; signed prints are only $30. |  |  |
